Collaborating with Schools: Equipping Educators & Staff with Life Skills

At Moore Median Mentoring, I deeply value partnerships with schools and educational organizations. With extensive experience supporting students, educators, front office staff, and families, I understand firsthand the unique emotional and relational challenges school communities face every day.

My collaborative programs offer practical, customized professional learning, workshops, and individual mentoring designed specifically to equip educators and staff with essential, evidence-based skills. The goal isn't about "fixing" students—it's about developing the emotional intelligence, compassion, and communication abilities of the adults in the building, thereby creating a calm, supportive school culture rooted in mindfulness and non-judgmental awareness (core DBT principles).

Why Schools Need Emotional Coaching for Educators & Front Office Staff

  • Schools already invest in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), instructional coaches, and mentorship programs to support teachers with curriculum, instruction, and student engagement.

  • However, a critical component is often overlooked: the emotional demands of teaching itself—and the emotional intensity that occurs daily in school front offices.

  • Educators and front office staff consistently navigate stressful interactions, challenging behaviors, and high-pressure situations, all of which impact their ability to effectively fulfill their roles.

  • If we provide instructional coaches for teaching strategies, why not for managing emotions and effective communication?

  • Learning to manage stress, regulate emotions, and respond skillfully under pressure benefits not only individuals but positively transforms the entire school environment.

  • An instructional coach for emotional skills equips educators and staff with practical tools to remain grounded, set clear boundaries, maintain emotional balance, and consistently show up as their best selves in the school and beyond.

Professional Learning for Front Office Staff: The Power of Customer Service in Schools

The front office is the heartbeat of every school. It’s the first point of contact for students, parents, and staff, where every interaction—whether in person, by phone, or via email—is an opportunity to help someone feel seen, heard, and understood.

Great customer service in the front office is more than just efficiency; it’s about emotional intelligence. A calm, skillful response can prevent emotions from escalating, de-escalate tense situations, and create a welcoming, positive experience for everyone.

This training fills a critical gap. Front office staff handle high-stress interactions daily, yet rarely receive professional learning dedicated specifically to communication, emotional regulation, and conflict prevention.

My workshop provides staff with:

✔ Simple, effective skills for navigating emotionally charged interactions.
✔ Strategies to de-escalate difficult conversations while maintaining professionalism.
✔ Tools to create a welcoming, calm school environment that benefits students, parents, and staff alike.

My Experience: From the District Office to the Front Lines

I’ve worked in both the district office and directly on the front lines in a middle school, giving me a unique, full-spectrum perspective of school operations and culture.

I understand how essential emotional regulation, validation, and effective communication are—because I’ve lived it. I deliberately pivoted my career to experience firsthand the day-to-day realities educators and school staff face. This has been one of the most valuable decisions of my professional life, granting me deep insight, experience, and practical knowledge that now fuels every workshop I deliver.

What My Workshops Offer

My sessions are interactive, skills-based, and immediately applicable. They emphasize practical tools over theory. Each workshop session includes:

Guided Practice – Learn skills through realistic scenarios tailored to your unique school environment.
Roleplays & Coaching – Gain hands-on experience applying new skills, building confidence for real-world interactions.
Follow-Up Support – Skill-building happens over time, so I provide ongoing post-workshop support to help ensure lasting implementation.

Location & Availability

I am based in Metro Atlanta and prefer to conduct the initial presentation in person. However, I offer virtual follow-up coaching to continue supporting educators and front office staff after the initial training.

If your school is interested in providing individual coaching sessions for educators or front office staff, I am available to come on-site for one-on-one appointments throughout the day. The school covers my time while I'm on-site, ensuring staff receive personalized support without additional costs to them.

Let’s partner to bring emotional intelligence and communication skills into your school community. When educators and staff feel supported, calm, and empowered, everyone—especially the students—benefits.
